1. Never "experiment" with your turtle or be mean to it.

3. Make life for your turtle interesting as it will be around for up to 85 years in a tank with all of the equipment. In the wild the will only survive for around 20 years
4. If you get 2 or more turtles be prepared for them to be more interested in each other rather than you. Even though turtles aren't very social, they will still enjoy other turtles for company.
5. If your turtle has left chunks of food in the tank 45 mins after it's eaten than scoop up the left overs and bin it, this will help indicate how much your turtle eats.
6. Even when your turtles a baby you should still include veges in it's diet other wise when it's older it wont even touch a leaf of lettuce.
